Join Equator for a seven-day Coffee Adventure in Costa Rica and Panama. This educational tour will give you a complete overview of the coffee process from harvest to export with a focus on quality, culture and the environment. Learn what it takes to produce super specialty lots, and understand impacts of organic and fair-trade coffee. Intinerary

  • Arrival Day: Saturday, January 7: San Jose, overnight, welcome dinner and orientation
  • Day 2: Sunday, January 8th: Introduction to coffee in Costa Rica. Lunch and scenic drive to San Isidro. Overnight San Isidro.
  • Day 3: Monday, January 9th: Meet the farmers of CoopeAgri coffee coop to learn about organic and fair trade coffee production and the impact of community projects. Overnight San Isidro.
  • Day 4: Tuesday, January 10th: Morning community, farm and mill visit. Free afternoon for hiking and local touring. Overnight San Isidro.
  • Day 5: Wednesday, January 11th: Morning drive to Panama and border crossing. Introduction to Panama Coffee including sensory evaluation, varietals, processes and environment. Overnight Panama.
  • Day 6: Thursday, January 12th: Full day of farm visits, including Equator's own estate, the beautiful Finca Sophia. Learn about the efforts to establish a new farm with famed Geisha coffee. Overnight Panama.
  • Day 7: Friday, January 13th: Morning hike and lunch closing session followed by a free afternoon and optional travel to Panama City or San Jose from David.
  • Day 8: Saturday, January 14th: International departures from David Airport through San Jose, Costa Rica or Panama City.

Details

  • Price: $1295 per person double occupancy (single occupancy supplement is $350). Includes all hotel, transportation, and ground costs. Airfare not included.
  • $500 deposit by October 31, full payment due November 30.
